Here at Monarra Park our mares have all been carefully selected based on type, conformation, and their bloodlines. Most of our mares are highly decorated and are producing foals with the same winning edge that they have.
We believe the mare is just as important as the stallion when breeding for success!

BALNAGOWN BONNIE LASSSire: Colvadale Reflection
Dam: Balnagown Lullaby 2010 Black Mare | 9.2hh This stunning mare is truly a force to be reckoned with, not only in the ne 9.2hh classes but up against all heights as well. From the moment we acquired Bonnie, we knew we had something special. She was completely unbeaten in her first year of showing, beating well seasoned, successful ponies. She quickly made a name for herself there on in & has now amassed an amazing show record any owner or breeder would be proud of. She was given time off to have her first foal, Monarra Park Arya, and although she has nothing left to prove in the show ring, this little mare still continues to astound us with her results. One of the most successful ne 9.2hh mares of recent years. Progeny To Date Include:

Kelly is a firm favourite here at the stud with her gorgeous head and beautiful, gentle nature. GLEN ARDAN SNUGGLEPOT
Sire: Wandarra Pippen
Dam: Colvadale Show Girl 2015 Black Tobiano Filly | 10.2hh To my surprise, on my 21st birthday I was gifted this filly from my Nan. Snugs is everything I could've asked for in a mare & more; she has absolutely blown us away with her achievements in such a short amount of time. At only 3 years of age, Snugs is already a multi supreme & champion winner, including major wins such as Supreme Shetland at Cessnock Show 2018, Champion Filly, Best Junior Exhibit & Supreme Overall Shetland at the NSW APSB Stud Show 2018, Best Broken Coloured Filly at the Shetland Super Show 2016 & 1st & Reserve Junior Champion Filly at Sydney Royal 2018. Snugs has now commenced her ridden career & has been expertly piloted by Olivia Carter for a 2nd at Canberra Royal & 1st ridden mare & Reserve Ridden Shetland at Bathurst Royal 2019. She was also awarded Champion Ridden Shetland at the NSW APSB Stud Show at the end of 2018. Qualified for SHC Grand Nationals 2020 |
MONARRA PARK ARYASire: Wandarra Pippen
Dam: Balnagown Bonnie Lass 2014 Black Mare | 9.2hh Arya was the first foal born under the Monarra Park prefix and she has certainly done us proud since then. Her first show was at the NSW APSB Stud Show where at only 3 months of age, Arya was awarded Best Shetland Foal. She now has several champions & supremes to her name, competed interstate successfully & has placed highly at Royal level. Her pedigree is a combination of some of the best imported lines & some of Australia's most successful too. She is a grand daughter of the infamous Wells Rising Star (IMP) and for this, along with the fact she has such a sweet nature, means she will become a valuable broodmare in years to come. |
MONARRA PARK PARISSire: Lentara Legend
Dam: Glen Ardan Poppet 2015 Black Filly | 10.2hh A first foal for both her parents, Paris exceeded all expectations when she was born. A truly stunning filly in all aspects- abundance of hair, beautiful length of rein and a powerful trot underneath her. Paris was left in the paddock to mature originally & in 2018 she commenced not only her led career but was sent down to Victoria to be campaigned under saddle by Bec & Jane Gerber. With such a short amount of time under saddle, this has not seemed to affect her placings against the older, more experienced ponies. Some of her recent results include- Reserve Champion- Open Small Pony (Lang Lang Show) Reserve Champion- Open Small Pony (Yarra Glen Show) Finalist- Newcomer Saddle Shetland (Barastoc) Top 10 & Smartest on Parade- Open Saddle Shetland (SHC Battle of the Borders) Top 5- Preliminary Saddle Shetland (SHC Battle of the Borders) 1st- Ridden Shetland Mare (Canberra Royal) 1st- Ridden Shetland Mare (Sydney Royal) Runner Up Ridden Shetland of the Year- SHC HOTY Qualified for SHC Grand Nationals 2020 |

She enjoyed a short showing stint between 2015-16 where she picked up several champions including Champion Shetland Mare ne 9.2hh at the NSW APSB Stud Show & Supreme Shetland at the Southern Stars Spectacular Show. FAIRLIGHT ACRES LINDYSire: Fairfield Park Jerry
Dam: Elken Lucille 2007 Chestnut Tobiano (Homozygous) Mare | 10hh We are very fortunate to have Lindy here at the stud. Not only is she homozygous for the tobiano gene but she also brings a wealth of Green Valley breeding with her. I had long admired her and what she was producing for her previous owners and after a few years they eventually decided to part with her. The decision was made to leave her empty for her first year here to join her to a specific stallion down in Victoria and after a long wait, her first foal for us (and first filly) was born. Her Progeny To Date Include:

WOODVIEW KIRASire: Woodview Justin
Dam: Woodview Kaoma 2003 Bay Mare | 10.2hh This mare has been a prolific breeder for Tara Park Stud, producing some fantastic saddle types that have been winning all over the country, so when they offered her to us in 2016 we couldn't say no. She brings to the stud some much needed height as well as joining our band of ever growing bays. Her foals have beautiful fronts with powerful hind end action and expressive faces. Perfect for all aspects of showing Her Progeny To Date Include:

MILLWOOD TAWNIESire: Fenwick Marcus
Dam: Millwood Trisha 2007 Bay Mare| 9.1hh Tawnie possesses some of Australia's oldest bloodlines through her Fenwick lineage but her pedigree also plays host to the likes of Muskateer of Wetherden (IMP) & Entwhistle of Wetherden (IMP)- two ponies that are becoming harder & harder to find in pedigrees of today's ponies. This mare has an abundance of hair, good bone, teeny ears & really embodies the typical 'thelwell' look we all know & love. Her Progeny To Date Include:

MONARRA PARK HARLEY QUINNSire: Gonong Vintage
Dam: Fairlight Acres Lindy 2017 Black Tobiano Filly | Mature 10hh Harley is the result of a mating we had in the works for some time & we are absolutely thrilled with the result. A combination of some of our favourite lines & colour to boot as well. A really lovely type- this is going to be one filly to watch out for in the future. Despite limited show outings thus far, this filly has blown us away with her results. At her very first show has a foal she was awarded Champion Foal, at the Hunter Valley APSB Show she was awarded Supreme Shetland against all other ages & recently competed at the 2019 Sydney Royal Show where she not only won a very competitive filly 2yrs & under class (as a yearling) but went on to win Junior Champion Filly. |
MONARRA PARK atomic blondeSire: Wandarra Mascot
Dam: Riverton Lodge Shezalooka 2018 Cremello Filly | Mature 10hh A very special baby, not only for her colour (very uncommon for shetlands) but because she is the first foal her dam (my favourite mare) has given me. This little miss has real sass about her and we look forward to campaigning her at the foal shows. |
glen ardan zavannah
Sire: Wandarra Pippen
Dam: Thorpeville Zaara 2016 Black Roan Filly | 10-10.1hh A recent addition to the stud, Zavannah combines some of our favourite tried & true lines via Wandarra Pippen but also introduces some new blood to the stud via her dam's sire Clothie Zobell (IMP UK). Zavannah epitomises the typical shetland characteristics we all know & love- an abundance of mane, tail & feather & a cheeky personality to boot. We look forward to her commencing her show ring debut soon. |
